Hires-FLI-Formats (“AFLI”): AFLI-images are hires pictures that use one of eight different videorams for each line, a feature provided by the common FLI (flexible line interrupt) trick. This results in more possible colours per cell - each pixel in a 8x1 line may have the background or the foreground colour defined in the corresponding videoram. The first three cells can not be drawn upon. AFLI images consist of a bitmap and eight videorams (usually laid out one after another so it’s sufficient to note the adress of the first videoram). Resolution: 320x200.

Multicolour-FLI-Formats: Multicolour FLI images are pretty much similar to AFLI except that they are based on Multicolour so the resolution is 160x200. Each (double) pixel in a 4x1 line may have either background/foreground colour from videoram, the colour from colourram (same for each cell) or the background colour (most often the same for the whole picture but can be changed in each new line too).

Hires-FLI-Interlace-Formats: It is possible to interlace two hires FLI pictures to (virtually) increase the number of available colours.

Multicolour-Interlace-FLI-Formats (“IFLI”): To create IFLI images, two multicolour FLI images are shown interlaced, in most cases the second image is moved by one pixel to the right to (virtually) improve resolution to 320x200. It’s also possible to increase the number of available colours, resolution then stays at 160x200.
