Introduction:
ConGoSE is a C64 shell extension for Windows Explorer - but what is a shell extension anyway? As a Windows ME or XP user, you probably know ZIP folders. With them, you don't need WinZip anymore to inspect ZIP files, instead, you simply double click the ZIP file and Explorer opens it as if it were a folder. And indeed it is - the ZIP folder shell extension does make Explorer see ZIP files as folders. ConGoSE does "just" that for Commodore files (images, sounds, archives) and for Commodore disk images - D64, D71 and D81.
New: ConGo Shell Extension V0.92
fixed a few bugs
added more customization options to d64config.exe
added .t64, .lbr
added several graphics file formats that came with the newest ConGo version
you can now switch the font case inside a D64
added "configure shell extension" menu to Explorer
image previews now shown inside D64 in left Explorer pane
you can directly load a .sid/.psid into Sidplay from Explorer (even inside a D64)
D64 extension is more compatible with Win9x (see known bugs for an exeption
Known limitations of V0.92:
in Win9x, in Explorer's details view no column captions are shown
although you can see inside a D64 even from a "Open File" window like that from Word or Notepad, you cannot yet load or save a file directly from/to it (but I'm working on that one)
you cannot yet convert a .t64 to a .d64 via context menu
In Short: What is it?
ConGoSE adds many useful "Commodore" functions to Windows Explorer (for a detailed explanation with screenshots see D64 Extension)
Explorer opens D64/D71/D81 files as if they were normal folders. You can add and remove files, insert "directory art", view image previews, run files in emulator...
Added config program to disable a few features on slow machines
Explorer shows previews and property pages for Cbm archive files (.arc, .ark, .lbr, .lnx, .z64, .t64, .sda)
Explorer converts Cbm archive files to D64/D81 via context menu (right click) (beware: to recognise zipcoded files - like 1!*, 2!* ... - Explorer needs them to have a file extension of .z64)
Explorer shows previews, infotips and property pages for Cbm music files (.sid info files, .sid/.psid, .mus)
Explorer shows preview of the D64/71/81 content
Explorer shows diskname, disk id and free blocks as infotip
There is a D64/71/81 properties page (right mousebutton on filename) from where you can even export cbm files (right mousebutton again)
Explorer shows previews of all (50 plus) C64 picture formats supported by ConGo, from Hires to IFLI. You select the size (small icon, large icon, mini-preview, large preview)
The icons of your C64 images show the actual content of the files
With a simple right mouseclick you can convert a C64 picture to Windows-bitmap, Jpeg or Gif. This works for a selection of files too!
Adds a "property" page for all C64 picture where you see the full picture, it's mode and format
Adds an "infotip": If you hold the mouse over a C64 picture, it's format and mode is shown

ConGoSE doesn’t do archive files on its own - it uses Star Utilities version 0.82 by Joe Forster/STA in the background (with permission from Joe). While you won’t see them working, they are installed with ConGoSE automatically. Since they are placed in the DOS path, you can also use them directly. If any questions result from this, please consult the Star Utilities’ manual first, then check http://sta.c64.org/su.html first.
